We made it to Prague!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers. We all made it safely! Charles and I just barley made our connecting flight to Amsterdam, but the Lord guided us through and we made the flight. Karin and Bob had a safe journey from London, where they stopped first. Charles and I had a bit of motion sickness to deal with after the flight however but Kathy and Kenny were such a warm welcome at the airport!
Right away Mark swept us into the city. We had a crazy cab driver that took us to where we are staying about a half an hour from the airport. Well maybe he wasn't crazy, maybe it was just the fact that you can go 90 mph on many of the major roads here in Prague. We settled in nicely to our new home then
hit the city!
We took the metro to Vaclav (pronounced vahtslav) square, when we came up from the metro it was like we had just walked into the travel book! It was amazing! So many people, smells and sounds. Beautiful music was being played, and as we listened more closely we realized that they were playing Christian music in the square.
A group from YWAM along with a couple missionaries from Prague were playing worship music while the rest of their team was interacting with the people gathering and handing out gospel tracks. It was such a blessing to be encouraged by these other believers and to see that the Lord is working here in the Czech Republic! One of the leaders of their group prayed over us and for our week here, which was such an encouragement.
There is a huge hockey tournament going on here this weekend. In the square there was a large screen set up with large crowds gathered around watching.
It was so fun to hear the whole town erupt in cheers when their team made a goal. It was much like the sound of Brazil when they were in the soccer tournament
(you will know what I mean if you watched the youtube video.) So neat! The square was packed with people. We meandered through the city and came across Angelato, a gelato shop. Mark told us that this was their family's favorite gelato shop, so we of course had to stop! Delicious!
We also got to see the Astronomical Clock in the main square. This clock and the building that it is in was one of the things that the people of Prague saved during the World War. Half of the building was destroyed but this clock remains. We went to the top of the clock tower and looked down over the city. It was so beautiful! A great spot to get some amazing pictures!
We ended the day with a delicious meal at the Potma's house. Chicken, salad, bread, and dessert.
We are looking forward to what God has in store for the rest of our trip!
