The Team
Kenny & Kathy Stokes
Kenny is the Lead Pastor for Bethlehem's Downtown Campus. He also provides pastoral leadership and oversight of our Treasuring Christ Together (TCT) church planting efforts so visiting the Potma's, church planters in Prague, is a good fit. Kenny and Kathy enjoy visiting Bethlehem global partners to encourage them in their work and family life. |
Charles & Nikki Watson
Charles and I have always had a heart for missions. After getting married almost two years ago, we have slowly started to pursue this calling we feel God has placed on our hearts. Charles has always had an interest in learning languages, and one of the languages he really enjoys is Russian. We have many friends who are Russian as well, and from this his heart has grown more in love with the culture and people of Russia. Now I know that the Czech Republic isn't Russia, however they have many similarities in terms of there slavic roots. This trip is also focused around church planting, as we will be partnering with missionaries in (the Potma's) Prague who have a few different church plants around the city. Charles and I have both been interested in church planting as a possible ministry God might be calling us to in the future. Maybe in the US, but maybe overseas. Which is another reason why we were drawn to this trip. To see what church planting looks like in a different country. We are excited to serve God and see where he will lead us! |
Bob & Karin Goebel
Over the years we have supported many missionaries sent out by Bethlehem Baptist. We have been happy "senders" – we love to hear stories of God’s faithfulness in often challenging ministry situations. At times, we’ve asked ourselves “Should we be going somewhere?” The Lord opened up an opportunity for us to be “goers” when we were asked to be part of a team ministering to the Potma family in Prague. After time to ponder and pray, we happily accepted the invitation. We are excited to serve God in a faraway place. Prague is a beautiful city, but has been cited to be one of the most atheistic places in the world. Please pray that we will show the light of Christ, that we will trust God for humble hearts to love and serve the Potma’s and others we will meet and that our hearts will overflow with gratitude for God’s grace that is more than sufficient to meet, all of our needs for this trip. |
